Rooted in the Earth focuses on Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest, the five host boroughs of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games. Each of these East and South East London boroughs contains many public parks and green spaces open to local communities and visitors.
As part of Rooted In The Earth, each of the five host boroughs has chosen a highly visible spot in a local park or green space where one of the winning names will be planted. After the competition closes on 22 May 2009, the judges will review the nominations and choose one winner for each of the host boroughs. Each winning name will then be planted in one of these locations, where it will be seen by thousands of people every day.
If you want to nominate someone, please remember to say which borough you’d like their name displayed in.
